چکیده

For critical component application, such as aerospace turbine rotors, it is imperative to be able make accurate in-service material behaviour and life predictions for both design monitoring of life. The development predictive capability dependent on the quality experimental data from which parameters are derived. This paper shows effect that scatter may present within data, manifesting itself constitutive derived this has resulting fatigue crack initiation nickel-based superalloy RR1000. Industrial relevance was added investigation by use flight representative thermomechanical loading cycles state art models used finite element simulations conducted. ‘scatter in’ modelling approach outcoming made via a Monte-Carlo analysis. analysis consisted running same simulation several times, but with experimentally determined validated ‘baseline’ varied correction factors built into model, each run singular value decomposition procedure. It found small only very localised out’ under loading.

Thermomechanical Constraints and Constitutive Formulations in Thermoelasticity

We investigate three classes of constraints in a thermoelastic body: (i) a deformationtemperature constraint, (ii) a deformation-entropy constraint, and (iii) a deformationenergy constraint. These constraints are obtained as limits of unconstrained thermoelastic materials and we show that constraints (ii) and (iii) are equivalent. By using a limiting procedure, we show that for the constraint (...

Thermomechanical interactions due to laser pulse in microstretch thermoelastic medium

The present investigation deals with deformation in microstretch generalized thermoelastic medium subjected to thermomechanical loading induced by thermal laser pulse. The Laplace and Fourier transform techniques are used to solve the problem, and concentrated normal force and thermal source describe the application of this approach. The closed form expressions of normal stress, tangential stre...

Damage evolution in compacted graphite iron during thermomechanical fatigue testing

Thermomechanical fatigue properties of a compacted graphite iron in an out of phase configuration are investigated for different maximum temperatures and mechanical strain ranges. Furthermore, the stress-strain hysteresis loops are analysed and in particular the unloading modulus, i.e. the elastic modulus measured during specimen unloading, is obtained from each cycle. This material parameter h...

Constitutive equations for thermomechanical deformations of glassy polymers

Poly-Carbonate (PC) and Poly-Methyl-Methacrylate (PMMA) are lightweight and mechanically tough transparent glassy polymers. Their mechanical behavior at low to moderate strain rates has been well characterized; however, that at high strain rates needs additional work. We propose two modifications to existing pressure-dependent viscoplastic constitutive equations that enable one to simulate bett...
